More than 500 Chinese peacekeepers from an infantry battalion and engineering unit completed their mission in South Sudan's Wau and Juba.

They returned to China on December 4. The 10th batch of peacekeepers actively engaged in tasks ranging from protection of civilians to the construction and repair of roads and bridges, and medical services. During their mission, the peacekeepers undertook over 100 engineering and construction projects and provided medical services to more than 2,000 local patients. All the Chinese peacekeepers were awarded the United Nations Peace Medal of Honor for their unremitting dedication.
