Armenian refugees return home after ceasefire deal, but their future remains gloomy

The bitter fighting between Armenia and Azerbaijan ended last month, but anger and divisions remain. Residents who had fled the fighting in Nagorno Karabakh are slowly returning home but are still concerned about their future. Under the Moscow-brokered truce, Khramort remained a part of the Armenian controlled Nagorno-Karabakh region. But the division along the village’s borders left dozens of hectares of pomegranate orchards on the Azeri side. The Khramort farmers have no access to fruits that are ripe for harvest.
