Japan has retrieved a capsule carrying the first rock samples from beneath the surface of an asteroid. It landed in Australia on Sunday after traveling about 300 million kilometers in space. The samples were collected by Japan's unmanned spacecraft Hayabusa-2 a year ago. Scientists hope the samples will provide clues to the origin of the solar system and life on Earth.
