Chengdu City, southwest China's Sichuan Province, reported one new locally transmitted COVID-19 case on Monday, officials said.

The patient, a 69-year-old female, went to the hospital on Sunday after experiencing symptoms including coughing up phlegm. She then tested positive for the novel coronavirus the following day.

Relevant contacts have been quarantined and tested for the virus.
