Southwest China's Sichuan Province has entered "wartime mode," after its capital city of Chengdu reported a total of five locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, provincial authorities announced on Tuesday.
The Chengdu municipal government urged widespread disinfection, the launch of COVID-19 prevention and control inspections in key areas and nucleic acid testing to effectively curb the spread of the virus.
