Scientists in Italy have detected the novel coronavirus in a four-year-old's throat secretions from last year, which points to the virus' existence in Italy as early as last November. Led by scientists at the University of Milan, the study analyzed oropharyngeal swabs collected from 39 patients between September 2019 and February 2020.
