Set in eastern Luanchuan County, central China's Henan Province, at an attitude of 2,217 meters, Laojun Mountain is one of the three main peaks of Funiu Mountain, the branch range of the Qinling Mountains.

Combining natural landscapes and Taoist culture, Laojun Mountain has a long history of Taoism. Its temples have drawn swells of pilgrims since the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534).
