CGTN

The Qingdao government in east China's Shandong Province released a report on Friday tracing the origins of an asymptomatic COVID-19 case recorded on November 30 in Jiaozhou City. The report states the case originated in a cold chain product contaminated by the novel coronavirus, thus excluding the possibility of community transmission.

East China's Shandong Province reported one new asymptomatic case of COVID-19 in Qingdao's Jiaozhou City on November 30, and then a resident was found to be positive.

The government has carried out nucleic acid tests on a total of 2,521 people, including close contacts, all of which were negative. Authorities also performed antibody tests, and all came back negative.

Meanwhile, screening and nucleic acid tests were conducted on all fever clinics and patients with respiratory symptoms received by Qingdao medical institutions since November 13, and the test results were all negative.

These results exclude the possibility of community infection and transmission.
