Hares can look sweet, but when March and April come around and their mating season starts, they get aggressive. Male hares don't fight for the female's attention but a frantic tussle may happen when the female rejects the persistent pursuit of the male. 

An intense "boxing game" between a female and a male hare was captured in Cairngorms National Park, Scotland, on March 23, 2020. The fight lasted around three minutes.
