Enhancing the charm of the winter season with their special reddish-brown foliage, rows after rows of dawn redwood trees were photographed on Saturday forming a beautiful natural landscape by the Banqiao Reservoir in Zhumadian City, central China's Henan Province.
Dawn redwood is an endangered deciduous conifer with the wild population surviving only in China. It is known as one of the famous living fossil species among the plants. The foliage display the shape of bird feathers and turn from green to red in autumn and winter.
