Electoral College electors cast finalizing vote
The U.S. Electoral College members are set to meet in their separate states and cast their votes on Monday for the U.S. president based on the certified results in their states, a finalizing step to confirm Joe Biden as the president-elect.
The Federal Law rules the day as the first Monday after the second Wednesday in December, being December 14 this year.
The U.S. Senate will then open and count the electoral votes on January 6 before inauguration day for the next president on January 20.
A total of 538 Electoral College votes (EVs) are split between the states and D.C.. The EVs are weighted by population and mirror the spread of seats in Congress: 435 representatives, 100 senators plus an additional three votes for D.C. equals 538.

JCPOA Joint Commission meeting convenes
The Joint Commission of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) will meet in Vienna on Wednesday to discuss work underway for preserving the deal and ways to ensure all sides fully implement the agreement, according to the official website of the European Union.
The meeting will be chaired by EU officials and attended by representatives of China, France, Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom and Iran.
The JCPOA was inked by Iran in July 2015, with the six signatory states, together with the EU.
President Donald Trump withdrew the U.S. from the deal in 2018 and unilaterally reimposed sanctions on Tehran, despite objections from the international community.
China has said that it hopes all parties will take this meeting as an opportunity to further safeguard and faithfully implement the JCPOA and the UN Security Council's Resolution 2231, discuss effective ways to respond to current challenges, and continue to advance the political settlement of the Iranian nuclear issue.
It has also called for the U.S. to "return to the JCPOA at an early date and take concrete actions to assume its due responsibility for maintaining the international nuclear non-proliferation system."
