Standing at 2,217 meters in Luanchuan County, central China's Henan Province, Mount Laojun is one of the three main peaks of Funiu Mountains, the branch range of the Qinling Mountains. Combining natural landscapes and Taoist culture, Mount Laojun has a long history of Taoism. Its temples have drawn swells of pilgrims since the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534).
