A man was shot dead by police at a New York City cathedral on December 13 after he began firing a gun outside a Christmas choral concert.

Police said there was no indication anyone but the suspected gunman was shot.

The shooting happened just before 4 p.m. at the Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine.

It wasn't clear if the gunman was aiming at people or firing in the air.
