China warned the world about COVID-19, but did anyone listen?

With less than three weeks to go in 2020, governments around the world are still tightening restrictions to confront rising numbers of COVID-19 cases. Today, more than 70 million people worldwide have been infected with the coronavirus. Back on January 23, the world only had 654 cases of the coronavirus. In a timely manner, China informed the WHO and other countries of the developing situation. Although China repeatedly warned the world about the outbreak, at that time, some in the Western world, including multiple media outlets, were focusing their attention on how China's reaction to the outbreak violated human rights. What would've happened if the world had taken China's warnings more seriously in the early days?
