Southwest China's Sichuan Province reported one new COVID-19 case on Monday. He's a pilot of an international cargo flight, who arrived in Chengdu on November 29 from Los Angeles, and tested positive for COVID-19 after a 14-day quarantine, local health authorities said Tuesday.
The pilot first tested negative after arriving in Chengdu, but tested positive in a nuclear acid test on Monday after his quarantine. He was diagnosed as a confirmed case and transferred to a designated hospital for isolation treatment.
The community in Chengdu City, where the patient lives, has been closed and all crew have been notified for nucleic acid testing.
