The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) set up a special investigation team and organized industry experts to carry out an epidemiological investigation after a pilot tested positive for COVID-19.

Southwest China's Sichuan Province reported one new COVID-19 case on Monday. He's a pilot who arrived in Chengdu on November 29 from Los Angeles on an international cargo flight, and tested positive for COVID-19 after a 14-day quarantine, local health authorities said Tuesday.

The CAAC will step up supervision and inspection, urge transport airlines and airports to strictly comply with epidemic prevention requirements, strengthen epidemic prevention and control management, and resolutely stop the spread of the epidemic through air routes.
