The Chinese mainland recorded seven new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, all from overseas, the National Health Commission announced on Thursday. 

Six new asymptomatic COVID-19 cases were also recorded, and 198 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.  

No COVID-19 deaths were reported on Wednesday, and 21 patients were discharged from hospitals. The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reached 86,777, with 4,634 deaths.  
The total confirmed infections in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region are as follows:  

Hong Kong: 7,803 (6,439 recoveries, 123 deaths)  

Macao: 46 (46 recoveries)  

Taiwan: 749 (612 recoveries, 7 deaths)
