Standing 2,217 meters above sea level in Luanchuan County, central China's Henan Province, Mount Laojun is one of the three main peaks of Funiu Mountain, a branch of the East Qinling Mountains. Combining natural landscape and Taoist culture, it has a long history of Taoism. Its temples have drawn pilgrims since the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534).
