Ying Rudi has many claims to fame. He's a pioneer in Chinese ice hockey and the son of famous Chinese director and comedian Ying Da.
He went to the United States for training when he was nine, and came back to China and joined Beijing-based club HC Kunlun Red Star in 2016.
The 22-year-old athlete is the first Chinese player to score at Eurasia's top-class Kontinental Hockey League in February 2019.

At the just-concluded China Ice Hockey National Championships in Tengchong, southwest China's Yunnan Province, Ying led the Beijing College of Sports team to take the trophy after beating traditionally strong rivals from the northeastern cities of Harbin and Qiqihar.
On the sidelines of the game, Ying shared with CGTN his ice hockey experience and aspirations for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
