The Chinese mainland on Friday recorded 17 new COVID-19 cases, three locally-transmitted and 14 from overseas, the National Health Commission announced on Saturday. 

Of the three local infections, two were reported in Beijing and one in northeastern Liaoning Province, health officials said.

Sixteen new asymptomatic COVID-19 cases were also recorded, while 203 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

Hong Kong: 7,969 (6,628 recoveries, 129 deaths)  

Macao: 46 (46 recoveries)  

Taiwan: 759 (619 recoveries, 7 deaths)
