The condition of French President Emmanuel Macron is "stable" after infection of COVID-19, the French presidency said on Saturday.

"The medical condition of the president is stable compared with ... Friday. He presents similar COVID-19 symptoms which do not prevent him from fulfilling his obligations," the presidency said.

Macron tested positive for the coronavirus on Thursday. He later said he was working at a slower pace than usual outside Paris.
