Flocks of ruddy shelducks were spotted on Monday at Bosten Lake in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
The migratory birds usually spend the winter on the Indian subcontinent. Bosten, the largest inland freshwater lake in China, offers an important stopover on their journey.
