Another 226,529 people in the United States have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to over 17.3 million, according to latest figures released by the Johns Hopkins University on Friday.

The coronavirus-related deaths in the U.S. rose by 2,775 to 312,722, the data showed.
