Northeast China's Liaoning Province reported one domestically transmitted case of COVID-19 on Saturday, local health authorities said on Sunday.

The case, reported in the port city of Dalian, was a close contact of an asymptomatic carrier diagnosed earlier, according to the provincial health commission.

The individual was diagnosed with COVID-19 during quarantine and has been transferred to a designated local hospital, the authorities said.

A total of 813,504 people have received nucleic acid testing in the city, with all results negative.

All of the medical institutions in Dalian have entered "wartime" mode for epidemic prevention and control. 

By Saturday, Liaoning had reported a total of 291 COVID-19 cases, including 65 cases from overseas.
