With a history of over 2,500 years and a total length of 1,794 kilometers, the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal is known as the world's oldest and longest man-made waterway. It runs through the Tianjin Municipality and the provinces of Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
