Chile's international airport is now using dogs to detect COVID-19 by sniffing the sweat of passersby. The canines are part of the Chilean government's alternative, quick and cost-effective method of identifying travelers infected with the virus.
The brigade is made up of four dogs that can sniff up to 250 people per hour. The canines have been trained to detect different types of smells present in human sweat and thus could likely detect someone who has COVID-19, though further testing needs to be done.
