Beijing recorded two new asymptomatic COVID-19 cases from Wednesday to 4:00 p.m. local time Thursday, a government spokesperson said on Thursday, adding that the city reported no new locally transmitted cases.

A 34-year-old male was confirmed to have been infected with the coronavirus on Wednesday and is being observed in quarantine in a designated hospital.

The other case of a cold-chain worker was diagnosed on Thursday following a nucleic acid test.

Tracing of close contacts of the pair and disinfection work are underway.
