China's Supreme People's Court, Supreme People's Procuratorate, Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of Justice on Thursday jointly issued an instruction on punishing crimes involving illegal trading and consumption of wild animals.

The instruction said criminal acts, including illegal trading wild animals for eating or other purposes, shall be given strict penalties on the basis of existing laws and regulations.
