An open day event at the Hunutlu Thermal Power Plant project in Turkey was held by the State Power Investment Corporation Limited (SPIC) via a livestream on December 23. The event showed the progress of the plant's construction and the SPIC's environmental protection  efforts in affected areas. Located in Adana province, the plant neighbors the Mediterranean Sea and has a total installed capacity of 1.32 million kilowatts.

For residents of Hunutlu village, each year sea turtles arrive and launch their first journey towards the sea. The construction of the power plant has not brought any dust or pollution to this beach. Designed for flue-gas purification, it integrates the stack with cooling towers, providing a better ecological environment in the sea.
