British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Thursday that a comprehensive Canada-style free trade deal had been reached between the UK and the EU. The UK has "taken back control of our laws and our destiny," said Johnson at a news conference at Downing Street. The deal would ensure the UK and the EU can continue to trade in goods without tariffs or quotas after 2020, but the agreement still needs to be approved by both the UK and European parliaments.
