Experts from China's National Health Commission are assisting anti-epidemic efforts in the northeastern port city of Dalian amid a COVID-19 outbreak in the city.

The working group, dispatched to the city on Tuesday, consists of 10 experts in the fields of health care management, epidemiology, virology, disease prevention and control, and health emergency.

The experts are taking part in local epidemic prevention and control work, and helping local health authorities carry out laboratory testing and gene sequence analysis and comparison.

A total of 19 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 20 others asymptomatic infections were reported in the city from December 15 to 24.
