The harsh winter does not frighten all beautiful flowers, as the wintersweet are already blooming in the Meiyuan Garden, which is located in Jinhua City of east China's Zhejiang Province. The golden flowers emitted from the naked branches, providing a vivid winter scenery for the tourists who visited the garden on the Christmas Eve.

The blossoming period for wintersweet is from November to March. As it is quite tolerant to coldness, the plant is widely cultivated in areas with cold winter in China.
