First COVID-19 vaccines arrive in Latin America

On Christmas Eve, Chile became the first South American country to begin vaccinating against COVID-19. Starting with its medics, Chile has already started using its first consignment of the Pfizer vaccine. On the same day, neighboring Argentina was ready to receive the first doses of Russia's Sputnik COVID-19 vaccine. A vaccine rollout was also about to begin in Brazil.
