Finless porpoises were seen jumping in and out of water in a river, frolicking and interacting with anglers and the swimmers in Yichang City, central China's Hubei Province.
The finless porpoise lives in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and has been on the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List of Endangered Species in 2013.
The finless porpoises usually leave Yichang in winter. However, as the fishing ban tightened and the population increased this year, they appear to have decided to stay for the winter.
