Chinese-born British pianist Fou Ts'ong died on Monday from COVID-19 at the age of 86. Born in Shanghai in 1934, Fou rose to international attention as a 21-year-old at the 1955 International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, where he pocketed the third prize and a special Mazurka award.
