The statement said the two sides are satisfied with the momentum in the development of China-EU relations in the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

They reiterated their willingness to support the development of the China-EU comprehensive strategic partnership on the basis of mutual respect, equality, mutual trust and mutually beneficial cooperation.

Both sides agreed that the formal signing and subsequent implementation of the EU-China Landmark Geographical Indications Agreement will release more cooperation opportunities for China and the EU, the statement read.

It added that China and Italy are willing to strive for the early conclusion of the ambitious China-EU Cooperation 2025 Strategic Plan and to continue to promote China-EU dialogue in various fields, including the continuation of China-EU dialogue on human rights on the basis of equality and mutual respect.
