2020 was an extraordinary year, not just for humans, but also for wildlife.

The new coronavirus outbreak, which is believed to have jumped from bats to an animal intermediate host and then to humans, has sparked a global debate on wildlife trade and consumption.

In the meantime, global warming is claiming more natural habitats, threatening the survival of many species.

On the last day of 2020, CGTN Nature looks back at all the major events that took place in the wild and calls for more action in the new year toward wildlife protection and nature conservation.
