Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday delivered a speech at a gathering hosted by the National Committee of the top political advisory body, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). Xi said the CPPCC had made great contributions to unity and democracy in China over the past year, and urged its members to continue their efforts in 2021. He said China will continue to make progress in the coming year.
