China's monitoring index for adverse reactions to vaccines has reached the World Health Organization (WHO)'s standard, Wang Huaqing, chief expert of vaccination planning at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said on Sunday at a press conference.

China announced on December 31 that it would provide COVID-19 vaccines for free to the Chinese public as the first vaccine has been granted conditional marketing approval for the general population.

As of Saturday, 73,537 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were injected in Beijing. No serious adverse reactions have been reported.
