The EU medicines watchdog says it could decide later on Monday whether to authorize Moderna's coronavirus vaccine, bringing forward the date from Wednesday.
"There is a meeting of EMA's human medicines committee (CHMP) today, Monday, 4 January, to discuss the Moderna vaccine," the Amsterdam-based European Medicines Agency (EMA) said in a statement.
The agency has already approved emergency use of a COVID-19 vaccine jointly developed by U.S. company Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech.
