Tianshan wapiti go downhill for food in winter in NW China
CGTN

Tianshan wapiti, under second class national protection, were seen going downhill to forage in Songshutang on the northern slope of Tianshan Mountain in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Due to the cold winter, the area above the forest where wapiti live has been covered in snow, leading to a lack of food. However, since herdsmen raise yaks and horses at Songshutang, the hay and feed they scatter there draw the Tianshan wapiti down for food.
