To cope with the coronavirus outbreak, Wuhan converted a number of public facilities into temporary hospitals. These makeshift shelter hospitals were used to provide emergency aid, treatment, and clinical examination services for patients with mild coronavirus symptoms. Wuhan Gymnasium was one of the largest such hospitals. For weeks during the high-time of the public health crisis, hundreds of professional medical staff were fighting a battle of life-or-death here.
