In Shuozhou City, north China's Shanxi Province, a local river has taken on a misty appearance. Local temperatures have dropped to around -23 degrees Celsius, while spring water around the Sanggan River maintains 12-16 degrees Celsius. The dramatic temperature difference has since created mist in the area. The colder it is, the more mist develops. The warmer currents come from the Shentou Spring where the river derives. The spring comes from the local karst landscape and is as large as 5 square kilometers.
