Japanese cheerleaders lift commuters' spirits amid coronavirus pandemic

As the Japanese capital heads into another state of emergency due to a surge in COVID-19 infections, an energetic cheer leading squad danced outside a Tokyo rail station to lift commuters' spirits. The four cheerleaders, each wearing protective face masks that were fogging up in the morning chill, shouted encouragement at passersby. The squad said they have been performing for more than 10 years to help invigorate morning commuters. But they added that their mission has taken on new meaning this time.
