The U.S. Congress certified Joe Biden's presidential election victory on Thursday after the process was interrupted by rioters storming Capitol Hill. After debate, the Senate and the House of Representatives rejected two objections to the tally and certified the final Electoral College vote, with Biden receiving 306 votes and Trump 232. U.S. President Donald Trump later promised an orderly transfer of power on January 20.
