Protected black storks winter in Beijing wetland
CGTN

Flocks of black storks, a bird species under first-class state protection in China, are currently wintering in the Niukouyu Wetland Park in Beijing, China. According to the manager of the park, this is the first time so many black storks are wintering in the park.

The black stork is considered to be a species of least concern by the IUCN, but in parts of its range, including India and China, the population appears to be declining. The migration of the birds indicates a good environment in Niukouyu Wetland Park as the species has high requirements.
