China pays tribute to police officers on its first Police Day

January 10 marks China's first designated day to honor police officers. The date was chosen specifically because it refers to the police report hotline number, 110. On this day in 1986, the first police reporting service center was set up by Guangzhou police in south China's Guangdong Province. The Haidao Bridge in east China's Zhejiang Province is seen illuminated on the night of January 9 in celebration of the first Chinese Police Day.
