New chief justice of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Andrew Cheung Kui-nung, was sworn in on Monday. Cheung takes over as Chief Justice of the Court of Final Appeal. Chief Executive of HKSAR, Carrie Lam, congratulated Cheung and pledged her support for judicial independence, free from any interference.
