A Chinese student was confirmed among the three killed in a series of shootings in Chicago on Saturday. Fan Yiran, a PhD student at the University of Chicago, was remembered as "someone almost too good for this world." His friends told CGTN that the 30-year-old was warm, smart and big-hearted. He had planned to come back to China if not for the COVID-19 pandemic.
