Live updates: Global COVID-19 deaths pass 2 million mark

Confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide have topped 93 million, with over 2 million deaths and more than 51 million recoveries, according to the latest data from Johns Hopkins University.

Here is the latest:

The Chinese mainland recorded 130 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, including 115 locally transmitted. 

An international expert team of the World Health Organization arrived in central China's Wuhan on Thursday. The team for the origin-tracing of the novel coronavirus will conduct joint research with Chinese scientists.

The UK will close all travel corridors from Monday, meaning everyone arriving in the country will have to self-isolate. 

On Saturday, India launched one of the world's largest vaccination campaigns.

Illinois is the latest U.S. state to report the discovery of a case involving the new COVID-19 variant first detected in the UK.
